The Town Hall itself was built in 1884 in the same Gothic style as the tower. Originally it was the tower of the Church of St. Lawrence built about 1125. Around 1550 the church was pulled down, and only the tower was left. Today it is the Tower of the Town Hall. The ruins of the Church of St. Lawrence are open to visitors. The key to the ruins is available from the Town Hall during opening hours, but no later than one hour before closing time.
