The habour is a jumble of fishing boats, fishing stakes, ropes, sailing boats (place for about 60 boats) and fishing nets on the drying ground of Roskilde Fjord. From the 17th century right until the 1950s there was a ferry service in and out of Gershøj harbour. The ferry berth is no longer there, but there is an inn which is known for its fried eel. Difficult to arrive during hard wind from NE-E-SE. In the harbour the deepest depth is 1,30 m.
