Roskilde Kloster (priory) was originally a manor house from 1560. In 1699 the manor was purchased by two noble ladies, who founded Denmark´s first home for unmarried ladies of rank. The main building is the oldest inhabited building in Roskilde. There is a banqueting hall with 60 ceiling paintings, a collection of 150 paintings of high artistic quality as well as a beautiful abbey church. The Red Room and the Brahe Room are both included in a guided tour. Entrance fee for a min. of 10 persons.
