Around the year 1000 five different Viking Ships were sunk in Roskilde Fjord to prevent enemy attacks on Roskilde. The five wrecks are now exhibited in the Viking Ship Museum. A visit to the museum can start with the 14 min. film (about amongst other things) the excavation of the ships (in different languages). Afterwards the guide will take you on a guided tour of the museum talking about the life of the Vikings and their seafaring. A new special exhibition is staged very year.
